Real, unplanned events can cause a speed bump or have the potential to be a show-stopper during plan execution. No matter how thoroughly a plan has been developed, it can never anticipate every possible variable.

So when recovery teams encounter a hurdle in the execution of their plan, they may need to enlist the help of the Incident Management team. Whether it's a lack of available help, changed resource or equipment needs, or something totally unanticipated, a team may need to raise an issue and ask for help with a solution.

Within CommandCentre, issues can be raised and escalated to the Incident Management team. That team can use its command, control and communication capacity to find a solution. Once the solution is found, it can be conveyed to the originating team so they can overcome their obstacle. Meanwhile, the entire issue escalation process is automatically documented and will be displayed in the Incident Playback Report, from which it can be used as a "lesson learned" for improving or updating the appropriate plans after the incident is resolved.
