What If Analysis
Simulate Events to Understand Their Impact
Understanding assets and their interdependencies allows planners to simulate and understand the impact if any asset malfunctions including any process dependencies associated with that asset. This non-disruptive, non-intrusive simulation is called "what if" analysis. It assists planners and managers with everyday decision support.
eBRP Suite's "what if?" analysis delivers an impact/dependency report identifying which assets are effected by a situation. "What if?" analysis provides real answers immediately. For example, if a building is compromised, the "what if?" analysis reports will provide insight into the number of employees in the building, the processes and functions performed in the building and the potential impact on customers and suppliers. This information is vital to effective Incident Management.
But it doesn't stop there. Understanding assets and their interdependencies can be used for decision support in everyday operations. Imagine if management was considering relocating part of the operations to a new facility. Understanding immediately who and what is impacted is crucial for decision-making. Other examples include consolidation of facilities, mergers and acquisitions, IT change management, supply chain planning and asset management. Planners can become knowledge keepers - instrumental resources for other managers and executives.
